A mobile jump start is a call out plus a few minutes of work, so the honest answer is that most of what you pay for is somebody driving to where you are at the hour you need them.
What our jump start starts at
Ours starts at 130 dollars for a standard call inside our coverage area, and that includes travelling to you, the jump start itself, and testing the battery and charging system while we are there. You are quoted the price on the phone before anyone is dispatched.
What moves the number
- Where the vehicle is. A driveway is simpler than level four of a structured garage with a height restriction
- Access. Gated yards, permit lots, and secured facilities need arranging in advance
- The vehicle. Some batteries are under a seat, in the boot, or behind a panel, which changes the work involved if it turns into a replacement
- Whether a jump is actually the fix. If the battery is finished, you are looking at a replacement rather than a jump
Questions worth asking anyone
Before you agree to a dispatch, ask three things. What is the total, not the starting price. Is travel included or added on arrival. And what happens to the price if the battery turns out to need replacing.
A service that will not give you a number on the phone is a service that intends to give you one when you have no alternatives.
What about a membership service?
Motoring clubs bundle roadside cover into an annual fee. If you use it several times a year it can work out cheaper. If you use it once every three years, you have paid for the privilege of waiting in a queue behind everyone else who is also having a bad night. Neither is wrong, they are just different products. We require no membership.
Is a jump start even the right thing to buy?
If the battery drained because a light was left on, yes, and it is genuinely the whole fix. If the battery is four years old and has already needed jumping this month, a jump is a way of paying to have the same problem again next week. That is exactly why we test rather than just connecting, starting, and driving away.

We take cash and Zelle at the roadside. We do not take cards, and it is better to know that now than when we are stood next to your car.
